This alphabet photography series transforms everyday environments into expressive letterforms by capturing the A–Z of the Latin alphabet through digital photography. Each letter is discovered in architectural structures, natural forms, and urban details rather than being drawn or digitally constructed, emphasizing observation, composition, and visual problem-solving.

The visual approach uses selective color to guide the viewer’s attention and create a cohesive system across all 26 images. The surrounding scene is converted to black and white, while the letterform itself remains in vivid color, allowing the shape to “pop” against the desaturated background and clarifying where the letter exists within the environment. This technique highlights contrast, line, and negative space while unifying an otherwise diverse set of subjects.

The project began with location scouting, experimentation with camera angles, and intentional framing to find legible letterforms in real-world objects. Compositional decisions focused on clarity of the letter, balance within the frame, and variety across the full alphabet, ensuring that each image could stand alone while also functioning within a larger grid. Post-processing refined contrast, color saturation, and cropping to strengthen legibility and maintain consistency from A to Z.

Final outcomes include a complete A–Z collage that reads as both a typographic system and a visual narrative of place. The series demonstrates skills in digital photography, conceptual thinking, and image editing, as well as the ability to build a cohesive body of work from exploratory visual research. This project showcases an ability to merge typography and photography, inviting viewers to look more carefully at their surroundings and recognize design in unexpected forms.
